Kilkenny: intense week of activities and trips

Blarney Castle, Cork, Dublin...

Hello again families!

We have been in Kilkenny for 10 days now and we are really enjoying this experience. The days have been full of good times and  time has flown by, it seems like yesterday when we arrived in Ireland.

We are going to tell you a little bit about last week.

Last Tuesday we went to Kilkenny Castle gardens to play a treasure hunt and in the afternoon we continued with our English classes. That night was Irish night at school and we danced the typical Irish dance steps.

The next day was a day trip and we went to discover another place in the south of Ireland: Blarney Castle and the city of Cork. We loved walking through the castle gardens where we discovered all kinds of vegetation.

Thursday and Friday we stayed in the residence to save energy for the weekend. We continued with English classes, learned to play hurling, made clay figures and also practised our English through a workshop that combined knowledge of science, technology, engineering, art and maths. And Friday night: DISCO, a DJ came and we had a great time.

The weekend brought us sunshine and good temperature, so we enjoyed it. Saturday we went shopping and then followed the local Kilkenny tradition of picnicking in the castle gardens. We took the opportunity to play a quiz game, so we interacted in English with the people and learnt more about Irish culture.

On Sunday we went to the Phoenix Park in Dublin where we could see deer in the wild, then we went to the city centre and walked through the streets and had our photo taken in front of the legendary Temple Bar:

On Monday we resumed our routine with classes, this week we'll take lessons in the mornings. In the afternoon we went bowling and ended the day singing karaoke organised by the Activity leaders.

We have 3 days ahead of us and we are going to make the most of them: classes, excursion to Dublin, Talent Show and some surprises.

Looking forward to seeing you in person to tell you about all these adventures.

See you on Friday!
