Host Family: Accommodation in London is with local families and full board in single or shared rooms. Families are within a maximum 45-minute radius of the school. Transport costs from the host family home to the school are not included in the course fees.
During the busy summer period, students might share accommodation with students of the same nationality.
The student must have breakfast and dinner with the host family (meals will be made in the school canteen from Monday to Friday). Students between 14 and 15 years old may leave until 9:00 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and until 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Students between 16 and 17 years old, on the other hand, may leave until 23:00 from Sunday to Thursday and until 00:00 Friday and Saturday, provided that the parents have previously authorized it.
Laundry is done by the host family and done once a week (it is advisable to bring enough clothes).
All families are strictly supervised by the members of the school.
Residence: Students aged 16 and 17 years old will be able to choose staying the the university residence Ramsay Hall. It's about 25 minutes by tube from the school.
Rooms are single, with shared bathrooms. UCL residence offers breakfast and dinner from Monday to Friday. Students will be able to purchase lunch at the school or at local restaurants.
The residence includes a weekly cleaning service and has an onsite Launderette (works with coins).
Most host families and the UCL residence are located at some distance from the school, so in this case it will be necessary to take public transport. To travel from the host family or the residence to school you will need the Oyster card (for any public transport within London), for zones 1-4 the cost is about €68 per week. This extra cost is not included in the course fees.
Please make sure that the clothes can be washed at 40 degrees and tumble dry. All clothing must be marked with the name of the student.
None of the above accommodation options include towels.
Students are encouraged to come prepared for good and bad weather and to bring sufficient warm clothing. British summers are not very predictable!
It is recommended that students bring their own towels with them. Always remember to buy the adapter before starting the course.
