Ackworth School is a private school located in the village of High Ackworth, in Yorkshire. Founded in 1779, this school offers students fantastic facilities in a beautiful natural setting.

This course is designed for children and young people aged 12 to 17.


ENGLISH COURSE

There is a maximum of 15 students in the classrooms, with groups divided by age and level. The teachers will especially emphasize communication techniques, activating the existing knowledge of the students and encouraging them to use English in their daily lives. On the first day of class, a level test will be conducted to properly distribute the English classes.

Each week a different area of work (food, music, sports, general culture, etc.) will be addressed, and during the course, students will create a personal folder and a diary where they keep their work in addition to presenting a group project on the chosen topic.

At the end of the course, they will be given a diploma indicating the level they have acquired during the course.

With no additional cost, students can choose whether they want to take the Football or Multisport course.

Football Academy: in addition to English classes, students can practice a minimum of 3 hours of football training 5 days a week. The training sessions are led by John McDermott, a professional football player, manager, and coach. Professional standard exercises, training, and practices will be conducted in state-of-the-art facilities.

Sports Academy: students who choose the multisport option will have weekly swimming and tennis lessons. Additionally, there will be two days of varied activities that could include:

Outdoor activities such as orienteering, cross-country, hiking, and shelter building Classic sports like athletics, table tennis, archery, and squash

In the final session, they will visit Xscape Yorkshire, an exciting adventure sports center that offers climbing walls, laser tag, go-karting, and mini golf.

Additionally, they can choose to join the football group once a week upon request.

The course also includes a half-day excursion per week, a full-day excursion, and a complete afternoon program of sports, cultural visits, and activities.
