The King’s School's history dates back to 597 BC, making it one of the oldest schools in Great Britain.

The school is located on the beautiful grounds of Canterbury Cathedral, St. Augustine’s Abbey, yet offers students fantastic modern facilities within a historic architectural setting. Sports facilities are within walking distance of the school and include an indoor swimming pool, gym and sports fields. Students who choose this program to take an English course in England will find at The King’s School a magical setting in which to spend their summer.

Canterbury is a quiet and the ideal city for students, as the safety of its streets and the number of cultural attractions make it a perfect place to study. Come to The King’s to study English in England this summer!

AGE

This program to study English in England in the summer is aimed at students from 8 to 12 and 13 to 17 years old.

ENGLISH COURSE IN ENGLAND

In the classrooms there is a maximum of 12 students with multicultural groups. Putting special interest in improving communication techniques, activating the students' existing knowledge and giving them confidence.
 
During the course, students create a personal folder and a diary where they keep their work.

English & Activities: The course is 16.7 hours of English per week. Students take a level test the first day to place them in classes depending on their level, age and maturity. The course has been designed to improve spoken English and practice it in all activities. At the end of the course they are given a certificate and a Personal Progress Report.

5 hours per week of Language Options are added to the English course: 
 
English & Performing Arts; During two afternoons a week, students who choose this option will be able to practice their English using specialized vocabulary for theater and dance. They will carry out singing, dancing and theater workshops. At the end of the course, they will present a play or dance that they have previously been rehearsing.

Speaking & Writing; focused above all on putting into practice the learning of creative writing, oral communication and script writing. During two afternoons a week, students will prepare topics for debate and conversations and will write short stories and interviews in order to deepen their pronunciation and practice of the language.

The student may choose one of these options depending on their preferences.

The King’s School offers the possibility of doing an Academic Year. This private residential school accepts students between 11 and 13 years old or 13-18.
